Call for sponsored participants

Thanks to additional sponsorship, we are pleased to offer a limited number of financial support packages for participants wishing to attend the workshop but are facing financial constraints.

The support package will cover:

  • Accommodation in shared hotel rooms (two participants per room);
  • Lunches and coffee breaks during the event;
  • Travel expenses.

Important. Due to the short notice and the time required for visa processing, we are unfortunately unable to provide financial support to applicants who require a visa to attend the workshop. We therefore encourage applications only from participants who can travel to Switzerland without requiring a visa or who already hold the necessary visa and travel authorisations.

As the available funding is limited, priority will be given to:

  • Early-career researchers (PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and researchers in the early stages of their careers);
  • Participants from underrepresented groups.

How to Apply

Please send an email to iav-contact @ googlegroups.com with the subject line Financial Support Application - IAV EPFL, by Wednesday 28 October 2026.

Your application should include the following information:

Applicant Information

  • Name
  • Institution
  • Current position
  • Name and email of supervisor/manager
  • CV (PDF attachment)

Travel Cost

  • Are you able to cover your travel to Lausanne?
  • If not, provide an estimated travel cost (in Swiss francs).

Lightning Talk (Optional, but encouraged)

  • Are you willing to give a lightning talk at the workshop?
  • If yes, provide a title and a short abstract (2-3 sentences).

In addition, we require a brief support letter or email from the applicant's supervisor or manager. The support letter should be sent directly by the supervisor/manager to iav-contact @ googlegroups.com.

Applications will be reviewed by the organising committee, taking into account the applicant's circumstances, potential benefit from attendance, and the available budget. Applicants will be notified no later than Friday 30 October 2026.
